Prayer Vigil for Victims of Orlando Shooting

On Saturday, June 18th at 8:00 pm, the Boston Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church will be holding a prayer vigil in solidarity with those affected by the Orlando shooting.

The vigil is scheduled to last about an hour and will include songs, prayer, a speaking out moment if people need a space to share their fears, concerns and thoughts. We hope this vigil will be an opportunity to support each other as we process this tragic event.

Donations received will be given to the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida, which is helping the shooting victim’s families in Orlando. All welcomed and invited. Light refreshments will be served.

For more info, or to participate in the program, contact Jonathan Reveil at jonathan.reveil417@gmail.com

May 14—BTYA Forum

This week, Ivan Ruiz-Knott will be facilitating a discussion on evangelism in its various forms—how it has been done in the past, how it is being done today, and how it should be done in the future. In preparation for this, please read “Cities: An Adventist Challenge” recently published in Adventist Review, and be ready to share your thoughts. The discussion will start shortly after the BT Potluck.

NEW BOOK - On May 28 we’ll begin discussing Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth, by Richard Foster. In it, Foster talks about spiritual practices such as meditation, fasting, simplicity, and celebration, and shows how each of these contribute to a balanced spiritual life. Please by the book. Please.
