10,000 Meals, June 19

Once again, Compassion Boston is partnering with Outreach’s End Hunger Northeast initiative to pack 10,000 meals to be distributed in Boston-area shelters. This is a repeat of last year’s packaging event. This year, the event will be held on the first Sunday of Southern New England Conference Campmeeting at3:45 pm in Cedar Hall at the SNEC Campgrounds (24 Sawyer Street, South Lancaster, MA 01561). Compassion Boston Prayer Walk, June 11

Compassion Boston will host a prayer walk on the second weekend of each month in a different greater Boston community from now until the October Evangelistic meetings. Join us on June 11 at 4:00 pm for our first walk in Everett, hosted by the Everett Portuguese SDA Church (21 Cottage St., Everett, MA 02149). Religious Liberty Seminar

Religious Liberty Speaker Lincoln Steed, editor of the prestigious international journal  “Liberty,” will be the guest speaker at the Braintree and Norwood churches the weekend of May 20 and May 21.  He will speak Friday evening, May 20 at 7:00 pm in the Norwood Church (59 Davis Avenue), and Sabbath, May 21 a 11:00 am and at 2:30 pm in the Braintree Church (250 Washington Street). At a time when our religious liberties are threatened in America as never before, please try to attend these important sessions. 

ACTS of Kindness: Mothers’ Day

Join ACTS Ministry for our monthly “ACTS of Kindness” on Sunday May 8, 2016 as we minister  especially to the mothers of our community.

Step 1—DONATE: Please donate bouquet of flowers or funds to buy flowers.

Step 2—MEET: Meet us on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 10am at the Boys and Girls Club (15 Talbot Ave. Dorchester)

Step 3—DISTRIBUTE: Join us to distribute flowers, bookmarks and pray with mothers, and pray with community.

Step 4—WEAR: As much as possible wear your ACTS t-shirt. You can receive an ACTS t-shirt by donating $10 or more.

ACTS: Ignite Boston 2016

ACTS Ministry will be embarking on a youth-led community outreach and evangelistic initiative this summer. This is a three-week event that is set to kick off on Sabbath, July 16, 2016 and will end with the “Ignite” Music Festival on Sabbath, August 6, 2016.

Outline for three weeks:

  • Week 1 (July 16- July 22): 
    Door- to- door evangelism in the community.
  • Weeks 2 and 3  ( July 23- Aug 6):
    Community Enrichment activities and workshops daily 9am to 5pm
    Evangelistic Service beginning at 7:00pm. 

The Venue: Franklin Field (Harambee Park)
Cost: Free to All. 

These activities include but not limited to, a district wide VBS program, Health Van, Health Seminar, Pathfinder Honors training and Field day, Art and Craft, Skills Training; Free Meal Program, Sporting Activities, Fairs and fun for the entire community.

Volunteer

We are currently signing up volunteers (you can volunteer for one OR more days/evenings). Volunteer today as:

  1. Music groups/praise teams to lead out in the evening meetings and participate in Music festival (you can volunteer for one(1) OR more nights)
  2. Volunteer staff to assist with the daily activities
  3. Skilled professionals to lead out in some of the services offered to the community
  4. Media professionals
